Juan Mata no tiene más que palabras de cariño cada vez que habla del Valencia, incluso cuando acaba de lograr la clasificación con su equipo, el Manchester United, para la Europa League, después de eliminar al Celta de Vigo en Old Trafford.

 

El ex jugador del Valencia CF ha valorado la reciente contratación de Marcelino como técnico del conjunto de Mestalla. Primero bromeó, "otro asturiano en el Valencia, de lo cual me alegro", dijo, hay que recordar que él y su buen amigo David Villa son asturianos.

Después, en los micrófonos de El Transistor de Onda Cero, Juan Mata deseó al Marcelino toda la suerte del mundo: "Ojalá que le vaya muy bien porque como sabe todo el mundo le tengo muchísimo cariño al Valencia y el tiempo en que las cosas no le van tan bien sufrio en la distancia. Ojalá Marcelino devuelva al Valencia CF donde tiene que estar".

Juan Mata celebrated his return to the Manchester United squad by spending the evening at a tapas restaurant owned by his father.

 

The Spaniard has been sidelined with a groin injury in recent weeks but returned to the bench for the 1-1 draw with Swansea, at a time when the Red Devils are fighting to earn Champions League football next season and are hunting Europa League glory.

 

United were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw by Swansea on Sunday, after Gylfi Sigurdsson leveled after Wayne Rooney's penalty, with Mata letting off some steam later than evening as he dined at the Tapeo & Wine restaurant in the city.

 

The restaurant, part-owned by Juan Mata Snr, boasts of ensuring ingredients and preparation take central stage, with the Spanish international enjoying an evening out with friends before heading home a little before 8pm.

 

While there were fears Mata, who turned 29 on Friday, may be sidelined for the rest of the season, he recently hinted he may make an early return while writing on his blog and revealed he is desperate to help his side achieve their goals.

 

'As you can imagine, this month has been a bit too long for me due to my injury,' he wrote.

Mata was back in the United squad but was an unused substitute in the draw with Swansea

The Spanish playmaker has made 38 appearances for United this season, scoring 10 goals

'I have never been in a situation like this before (I've been very lucky), but the truth is I'm feeling much better now and I hope to be back with the team soon, to try to help in the last spell of the season.

 

'I hope so, because that's all I want: being available to help and to contribute as much as I can, both on and off the pitch.

 

'A million thanks for all your messages wishing me a speedy recovery, I'm getting close.' 

 

Next up for United is a Premier League visit to Arsenal on Sunday, before the first leg of their Europa League semi-final clash with Celta Vigo the following Thursday.

Juan Mata ha vuelto a manifestar su deseo de que el Real Oviedo logre el ascenso a Primera división. El jugador del Manchester United lo hace el día que el conjunto carbayón ha salido de los puestos de play off debido al triunfo del Huesca. Mata se ha manifestado en el blog que tiene en su página web oficial, donde ha comentado sus sensaciones.

 

"En España sigue la disputadísima lucha por el título, que parece que se dirimirá en la jornada final. No quiero que se me pase mandar ánimos a los descendidos Osasuna y Granada, además de felicitar al Levante por su regreso a Primera. ¡Ojalá el Real Oviedo siga el mismo camino!", ha indicado.

Juan Mata, jugador español del Manchester United, tiene un blog en su página web oficial en la que cuenta sus sensaciones. Este lunes ha escrito una nueva entrada en la que ha hablado de sus sensaciones tras estar disponible para jugar después su lesión, de la que se ha recuperado un mes antes de lo previsto, y también de la eliminatoria que su equipo va a disputar contra el Celta, al que le ha dedicado unas bonitas palabras. 

 

"Respecto a mi vuelta, estoy muy contento y con muchas ganas de poder ayudar al equipo en este importante tramo final de la temporada, disfrutando sobre el terreno de juego y ojalá que levantando otro título", ha empezado diciendo Juan Mata antes de hablar de las semifinales de la Europa League contra el Celta: 

"Primero la visita a Balaídos para medirnos al Celta en la Europa League. Puedo afirmar sin exagerar que es uno de los clubes que mejor juegan de España, y no sólo esta temporada. Será especial volver a casa pero complicado a la vez, y debemos estar a nuestro mejor nivel para doblegarles".

MATA REGRESA UN MES ANTES DE LO PREVISTO

Sorpresa mayúscula en el encuentro de la Premier League entre Manchester United y Swansea de este domingo (13:00, Old Trafford). Juan Mata ha vuelto a una convocatoria del conjunto inglés mucho antes de lo que estaba previsto. El portugués José Mourinho, entrenador de los «reds devils», había declarado hace dos semanas que el mediapunta asturiano no volveria jugar esta temporada tras su operación en la ingle.

 

Mata, de 28 años, pasó por el quirófano a finales del mes pasado y el club tenía serias dudas de que pudiera regresar a los terrenos de juego antes de finalizara el curso, el 21 de mayo. Finalmente, de forma sorpresiva, Mata se ha recuperado en un tiempo récord y esperará desde el banquillo su oportunidad ante el exequipo del oviedista Michu.

José Mourinho declaró esta mañana que «Juan Mata lo ha dado todo por estar cuanto antes con el equipo» y le está «agradecido por ello» al centrocampista asturiano.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marcos Rojo and Juan Mata – three of the Red Devils’ most consistent performers this season – have all been missing with leg injuries.

 

Record signing Paul Pogba missed the derby with Manchester City after straining his groin in the win at Turf Moor, while central defenders Phil Jones and Chris Smalling have been out after picking up knocks on international duty with England.

 

Mix all that with a run of eight fixtures in a calendar month and even the most expensive squad in the Premier League is starting to wear thin.

 

Manager Jose Mourinho was able to offer up some good news on Friday though, explaining that Mata should be the first of those longer-term doubts to return.

 

‘I think the first one to come back is Mata, which will give us another option in attack, but in reality what we need now is one of the two centre-backs to be back,’ Mourinho said.

 

‘We arrive in an extreme situation where, I think it must be unique in football, where we have two cruciate ligaments in the same match [Ibrahimovic and Rojo against Anderlecht].

 

‘In my career I had one in 17 years. One cruciate in 17 years. And now, against Anderlecht, I have two. In one match. We are very unlucky is the only thing we can say.’

 

United host Swansea on Saturday before the first leg of their Europa League clash against Celta next Thursday.

Mourinho, who has been critical of his two defenders for not playing through the pain barrier, will be hoping to get them back into the team as soon as possible.

 

‘Smalling and Jones were [injured] with the English national team, training,’ the Portuguese manager added.

 

‘So maybe it’s a blessing, an opportunity to make the team stronger, maybe it’s an opportunity to make them mentally stronger.

 

‘Maybe it’s a blessing, so let’s see if they can come back.’

David De Gea has been waiting for five months to get his revenge on Juan Mata, but in the end he just made him look a bit like a character from Avatar.

 

A day after keeping a clean sheet in the Manchester derby, the Manchester United goalkeeper's thoughts were clearly with his injured compatriot - who is celebrating his 29th birthday on Friday.

Back in November, Mata wished De Gea a happy birthday by sharing a picture of the stopper as a fresh-faced youth , but his mate clearly had something else in mind for when he returned the favour. He also wanted to have a dig at his former club, too.

De Gea managed to get hold of a 2013 picture of Mata - who was then at Chelsea - covered in blue paint as part of a Blues kit launch.

 

And he left his 7.12 million followers in no doubt as to where his loyalties lie now by claiming "Definitely red suits you better! Happy birthday my friend."

 

Shots fired? Not quite, but the tweet did go down well with United fans, and was retweeted over 1,000 times within half an hour.

 

We await what Mata will respond with when De Gea turns 27 in November...
