Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata has extended his responsibilities at the club.
Obviously his sole focus is to help United win football matches but it has been revealed by The Sun that Mata has also been helping the kit room staff by assisting with the washing after away games.
He has provided support by taking out the dirty strips and boots from the team's coach following matches on the road.
A source at the club said: 'Juan is a special guy – he has started to help the kit man and his staff over the last couple of months.
'It sums up what kind of person he is.
'While his team-mates just jump into their flashy motors and zoom off after being dropped off back after away games, Juan has taken it on himself to stay behind and give a helping hand to the ordinary staff. It's a huge job to unload all the gear off the coach and takes a good while.
'People have been saying what a great gesture it is but to be honest it's just typical of the man – we are saying he has to be the nicest man in football!'
Mata is known for his generosity as he has played a major role in an outstanding initiative this season.
The Spaniard has spearheaded Common Goal — a charity which urges sports stars to donate one per cent of their earnings — in order to address social issues across the world.
Common Goal was set up by Jurgen Griesbeck, who also runs Street Football World - an organisation which supports more than 120 football charities, but Mata has convinced his colleagues to join by highlighting the scheme.
